The Quarantine Kitchen

The Quarantine Kitchen is a community and morale-building effort of the UCSF Department of Medicine and includes recipes and stories submitted by over sixty of our faculty, staff, and trainees across all of our missions and worksites. This includes members of the community who work at UCSF Health, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and the San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center. The purpose of this project is to share, honor, and enjoy the diversity of people and traditions that make up our wonderful Department of Medicine community. Few things bring people together like cooking and food. Family scientists highlight the great importance and power of rituals such as cooking, and cultural anthropologists point to their importance in shaping community identity and inclusion. With this project, we hope to underscore the inclusivity and joy that come from sharing our family traditions, recipes, and stories with one another. We will continue to add to this wonderful collection and resource as time goes on.
