Apples, Apples, Apple Crisp

My Story

This apple crisp recipe is a family favorite, especially in fall when the weather turns cool and apples are in season. One year, we went to an apple orchard where we picked the apples right off the tree for this recipe. What a delicious and memorable treat.

Recipe

Total Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Total Cooking Time: 45 minutes


Ingredients


For apples:

6 cups Apples, peeled and sliced

1 Tbsp Flour

¾ cup Sugar

½ tsp Cinnamon

¼ tsp Nutmeg

For topping:

½ cup Butter, melted

½ cup Brown sugar

½ cup Flour

½ tsp Cinnamon

½ cup Oatmeal

Method

  1. Prepare the apples:

  2. Toss together apples, 1 Tbsp flour, sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a large bowl, place in a greased 13X9 dish

  3. Make the topping:

  4. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, place mixture on top of apples.

  5. Bake at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes, then 350 degrees for an additional 30 minutes.

  6. Cool slightly before serving.

Tips:

  • 6 apples makes about 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples
